History

History is an important component of our broad and balanced curriculum, giving pupils the opportunity to explore the context of the diverse world in which they live. This exploration begins and is rooted in our EYFS curriculum, spiralling up and building in a sequential way across the school.

 

We operate a knowledge rich, skills based curriculum which places an emphasis on vocabulary development to support all of our learners. We value the opportunities that trips and school visits can offer and base these around our wider curriculum, to further support our children and provide them with meaningful and memorable learning experiences.

 

Our history curriculum allows children to grow and flourish in their future history education, at KS3 and beyond. We also recognise that, in developing their use of the key historical skills, we are helping our pupils lay the foundations needed to be become informed, successful citizens.
